Over two decades of artistry, heat, and imagination.
Hand-Blown Art. Crafted in Salado, Texas.
For more than twenty years, Salado-based artist Gail Allard has devoted his life to the art of blown glass. Inspired by distant travels, imagination, and the endless possibilities of molten glass, he has refined a process that explores color, movement, and texture within one of the most demanding materials known to artisans.
Each piece begins in the Salado Glass Works studio where Gail transforms glowing molten glass into elegant forms that balance movement, light, and design. His work is created by hand and supported by the talented hot-shop and gallery team that makes the studio possible.
Introduced to glassblowing while studying for his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Texas Tech University, Tooch trained under renowned glass artist Bob Rynearson. Through that mentorship, he was later introduced to Gail Allard and joined the Salado Glass Works studio in 2014 as an apprentice. Today, Tooch is an integral member of the hot-shop team, helping transform molten glass into intricate forms that explore color, motion, and texture.
A respected figure in the American studio glass movement, Bob Rynearson has played a meaningful role in shaping the artists at Salado Glass Works. As a mentor and collaborator, his influence can be seen in the studio’s dedication to craftsmanship, experimentation, and the artistic possibilities of glass.
